Profile Summary

Dr. Vasundhara Bhojvaid is Assistant Professor at the Department of Sociology, Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, Delhi-NCR. Her doctoral research was an ethnographic study that followed a group of scientists on a development project across villages in two districts in Uttarakhand, India. The study explored the intersections of science, climate change and ecological relationships to understand how entities such as air pollution, smoke and clouds reconfigure how social worlds are made.

Her current work looks at how air pollution is effecting and effected by policies, transforming life in urban spaces and understandings of the body. This is informed by her broader interests in how air pollution has close intersections with climate change and is charting new ways in which to anthropologically explore the contemporary.
